All Weekend ARLINGTON NORTHWEST MEMORIAL DISPLAY IN TACOMA. Saturday – Monday, May 23 – 25. 7am to dusk. Welcome to the eighth Arlington Northwest Memorial Display. This traveling memorial that has been as far north as The Peace Arch, as far south as Centralia, as well as the other side of the Cascades. It’s an interactive replica of the Arlington National Cemetery, with markers showing deaths in Afghanistan and Iraq wars. It was created by the Evergreen Peace and Justice Community in Kirkland and Seattle’s Veterans For Peace Chapter 92 in 2005. The collection of symbolic grave markers will be hosted by Veterans for Peace Chapter 134 of Tacoma. Volunteers are welcome to join set-up at dawn on Saturday morning, May 23rd at 7 am, and break-down at dusk on the evening of Monday, May 25th. Chapter Vice-President Dave Dittemore on his trumpet will perform “Taps” on the hour throughout each... EVENT IS FREE.
